Bike and Pedestrian Improvements

Creating safe and efficient passage and amenities for bicyclists and pedestrians (including those with disabilities) is a priority for the City. The following features are included in both the bridge and streetscape designs:

  • Dedicated bike lanes

  • ADA compliant pedestrian crossings and sidewalks

  • Curb bump outs

  • Two bike racks on every block of Central Avenue (one on each side)

  • Two litter and recycling receptacles on each block, including one at each bus stop

  • Traffic signals will have countdown pedestrian signal heads and APS push button stations at all locations where signalized crosswalks are provided
